    **FAQs**

    1. Can I substitute Monterey Jack cheese in the queso?

Yes, you can use Oaxaca or all White American for a milder flavor, just don’t use a pre-shredded cheese, your final product will be too thick and a bit grainy in texture.

    2. How long can I store the leftover queso blanco?

Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat gently on the stove top or microwave in intervals, adding a splash of milk if needed.

    3. Can I make this dish vegetarian?

Substitute the chorizo with a mix of beans, corn, and bell peppers sautéed with similar seasonings.

    4. What other toppings can I add?

Consider adding sour cream, green onions, or cilantro for extra flavor and freshness.

    5. Can I freeze the prepared chorizo?

Yes, freeze it in an airtight container for up to 2 months and thaw in the refrigerator before reheating.

    6. Where can I find cheddar cheese powder?

Cheddar cheese powder is usually next to the popcorn section in stores, but I like to order mine online, additional if you can’t find it Nutritional Yeast makes for a perfect substitution.

    7. Can I make my own french fries?

Of course, first wash and peel a little over 2 lb of russet potatoes. Then boil them for 3-5 minutes before removing them on a sheet tray with paper towels to cool. Once ready, heat 2 liters vegetable oil to 350°F and fry for 3-5 minutes until golden brown. From there continue the recipe as written by seasoning the french fries while still hot from the fryer.

    8. What if I can’t eat/find pork?

If you can’t eat or find pork, a great substitute is to use ground beef.
